The Longest Day (Heb 4:8-10)

The longest day in the Southerm Hemisphere turns out to be one long gloomy and rainy day. What a contrast! Yesterday was all bright and sunny for 15 hours but today no a ray of sunshine is in sight. Indeed darkness prevails but there is hope of another day. Today brought great joy to my heart as my son secures his first real job albeit part-time as he needs to complete one more paper over Summer school, then a full-time job may beckon provided he performs.

Now it is up to him to build on his career and future. As for me, the next couple of years may still be in Singapore and beyond that only God knows. The Lord has given us one Day to work for Him even as we wait to enter the Day which God will rest from all his works. For the Scripture says that God speaks of another Day (Hebrews 4:8), a sabbath rest for God's people who labour in Him now, working yet resting for whoever enters God's rest also ceases from his labours as God did from his.
